As a fan of the non-mainstream music, as you can see here by my appreciation of the Mongrel rock sounds of Brother, it saddens me to see the only alternative station in Philadelphia taken off the air, as Y100 was on Thursday. They consistently worked to promote local and independent bands, to bring their music to a larger audience. I listened to this station as nearly my only station for 10 years, and it has introduced me to many bands that mainstream music wouldn't touch. Bands which are independent, that I wouldn't have heard of in other ways.
Y100's signal has been replaced with an urban beats station, the 3rd in the Philadelphia area now. I won't be listening. Please take a few minutes to visit Y100rocks.com to read about it, and sign the petition if you are supportive.
If big corporations continue to take off the stations that look for local and new music, and replace them with cookie cutter versions of the MTV popular bands, we will lose the ability to hear new and upcoming music on the radio.
I was unable to attend, but a friend who did has supplied me with the following:

Another fun and energetic MidWinter show from Brother. Big thanks and applause are deserved for Bill and Karen Reid, and East of the Hebrides Entertainments for a tremendous festival once again. Brother's set list was as follows:

Excellent show!

Just got back from a great time at the Midwinter Scottish and Irish Music Festival. The guys sound just great, and really together.
First today, we saw a fun didg jam session, which was grooving all over the place. There was much didgin' to be had there. Then later, a show on the Main Stage. Here is the set list as written, and as played:
