Another day of studio notes has been posted up, day 9, with two shots of Rick getting ready to the new song "Death of me" and a shot of T with the drums. There's also a shot on the news page from the recent shows in Pittsburgh.
Today, on the road diary page, we are treated to a short movie from Loudonville, OH. Believe me, it's worth being patient while it loads. Great pictures, including an interesting pose from Angus, accompanied by a quick sound clip of "It's All Good. Very cool!
My fabulous friends have provided me with the complete set lists from the Pittsburgh shows this past weekend. Thanks guys!

The studio notes were updated this morning. There are some pics of Dez and T, a few of Hamish, and then one thumbnail you can click to see a larger version, to get the inside scoop one what they've beeing doing to the songs lately in the studio. Very cool... "Death of Me"... huh. Anyone heard this yet?
Got some phone calls just after 9:00 tonight, and got to hear some long distance Brother over the line (thank you!!). Reports are that the second show of the Pittsburgh Folk Fest was rockin', here are some of the songs they played, in no specific order:
Bitch (possible rename to Bliss??)
Name
Clumsy
Lonely
unknown
Romp
Hang On
Sweet Time
Funny
Crazy
Good (interesting new version for a bit, apparently)
And the ended with Grace. Hamish apparently picked up his pipes just as the fireworks display was going off, which was from all reports, powerful and magical.
I wish I could have been there, but I thank my friends again for keeping me in the loop. Hopefully some of the fans who were there will post to the Brother Yahoo Group and let us know all the fun that they had!
I'm not there, obviously, but the early word from friends at the Pittsburgh Folk Fest is that the 4:00 show was really good overall! Angus is in a kilt, green camo, Hamish is wearing the blue patterned pants. That's all I could really get over the noise of the crowd. Set list included the following:
Funny
Crazy
Hang on
Louie
Fragile
New one (I think it's Goodbye)
Wish I was there! Hopefully I'll have an update on the 9:00 show later!
During their recent trip to Milwaukee, Brother ended up at Thorson Elementary, in Cedarburg, Wisconson, where Brother fan Lynne has been teaching her kids about Australia, and making didges with them. Check out the news page for a cute recap of what happened, with a few pictures that captured the day.
Hamish and Angus have posted a road diary today, here, complete with pictures from the recent Milwaukee shows and visit to a local elementary school. The pic with the kids with the didges is awesome.
Hamish talks of the Sedona show, the school, and the Shank Hall shows. Angus then jumps in for the Club Tavern show, and both brothers discuss the current uncertainty some fans might be feeling. I think Angus says it best, "Going where no bro has gone before, having a damn good time on the way."
I'll be along for the ride. Have fun in Pittsburgh this weekend, y'all. Wish I could join ya!
Ok, so it's not up on the BROTHERmusic.com site yet, but I've been counting down on the right there for ages, and it's finally appeared on Musikfest's site.
Brother is coming back to Musikfest!!
Lots of new links up on Linkage today. There are over 200 now, and more to come in the near future. Check it out!
Busy day on BROTHERmusic.com today! Three updates:
studio notes, day 6, featuring T on trumpet.
studio notes, day 7, Hamish's bagpipes made me giggle.
And a road diary from Hamish, where he muses on the recording so far, and gives an update on what everyone is up to. Sounds like Rick isn't making it to Sedona, as the Starlight Foundation's annual gala is the same night. But, he'll be back as they head "to one of our homes away from home...Milwaukee here we come." Hope to hear lots from these WI shows, Milwaukee-ites!
A friend notified me of this today: The fabulous Libby Wendt has some new pictures up of the guys from the Internos event.
Check them out here, but be sure to browse through her whole site to check out her work.
Yes, another studio notes is up today. I'm really enjoying the constant updates we are getting! Today's pictures include Goldo, who I assume is the same Paul "Goldo" Goldowitz, listed as producing and mixing (and adding deep nasal tones on Bitch) on i you you me.
Another new studio notes! They are up to day 4, with some very cool new pictures. Have I mentioned how much I really enjoy the studio notes?
There's another Twilight Zone episode featuring the music of Rick Kurek! Guess there was some good feedback from the episode with Brother's song, Bitch (Inside of me). Rick's song Getting Away, will appear on this week's episode, Wednesday night, May 7th, at 9, on UPN. There's an MP3 of the song posted on the news page on BROTHERmusic.com, which sounds very cool.
Rick's site has a little more info, saying that the song will appear at the end, so I assume during or after the episode "Homecoming". Edited to add: It actually played at the end of "The Executions of Grady Finch", and was very fitting for the brief dialogue I saw.
The site also lists that Rick will be the Musical Director for The Starlight Foundation's annual gala. Go Rick!
There's been an update to the studio notes. Go check it out, it's an awesome new addition to the site!
The Faerieworlds Festival website has an MP3 up to advertise the upcoming show. Click on the link, and you'll hear the familiar melody of the unknown, as they announce "Australia's didgeridoo and bagpipe rock band BROTHER".
